Hi! I'm Casper, 25 years old, and I just graduated from Computer Science at the TU Delft a couple of months ago. I'm passionate about software engineering and broadcasting/media.
Software Engineering // Software Testing // JavaScript (React, Vue, Node.js) // Kotlin // PHP (Laravel) // Java // CI/CD // Databases // Broadcasting // Live Video Production // Dutch // English // German // ~French // ~~Spanish // Social Responsibility Certificate (Sociale Hygiëne) // Driver's License // Piano // (Bass) Guitar
Development of software applications and (live) video productions for various clients (a.o. Vestia, Municipality of Rotterdam, DPG Media/Qmusic). Examples of projects range from billing and invoicing solutions to critical broadcast control applications.
Building both client-facing and internal tooling for Netrouting (a hosting company) and Data Facilities (owner of multiple datacenters in The Netherlands). Examples for Netrouting include software to manage and monitor (cloud) servers, networks, customer subscriptions and billing. For Data Facilities, I wrote software to manage and monitor data centers, physical access systems, power, cooling, billing, etc. I worked as a member of a small development team (1-3 people), using many different techniques, languages, and tooling.
Assisting teachers and students in many bachelor courses. I was head of the teaching assistants team (~30 people) for the courses Software Testing and Quality Engineering and Web and Database Technology. Moreover, I was the teaching assistant of the master course Software Architecture for two editions.
Promoting the Computer Science and Engineering bachelor of the TU Delft (open days, try-out days, social media, information sessions on high schools).
Completed my master with a on bringing CI build test results to the IDE with additional context that is not available in CI build logs. Read more about my thesis »
Completed my bachelor with a thesis on the detection of semantic breaking changes in software libraries based on mined real-life library usage by generating automated test cases. Read more about my bachelor's thesis »
As a board member of DWH I mainly focused on our activities for the LGBT+ youth (up to age 30), the online
presence of the association, and (implementing alternatives for) the impact of COVID-19 on our association.
DWH advocates for LGBT+ rights in the city of Delft and surrounding area. It serves as a meeting place for LGBT+
people four to five days a week, gives awareness classes at local secondary schools, has meetups for people newly
out of the closet and much more. We work together with other local organizations among which the municipality of
Delft and the Delft University of Technology to improve LGBT+ acceptance in the region and provide a safe space
for those who need it.
I'm still active as a volunteer of DWH as part of various committees.
As the president of Delft's LGBT+ youth/student association my responsibilities included chairing board meetings, representing the society in public events and coordinating the activities of other board members and our various committees. Furthermore, I maintained contact with educational institutions, such as TU Delft, that target our target audience (youth between the age of 18 and 28). Moreover, as part of Outsite I organized many small-midsize events (20-750 people).
Active in various departments of the local broadcasting organisation Omroep Voorne. Started with technical support for radio shows, and later hosted various shows. Also produced videos and graphics for the TV station. Mostly active in the broadcast engineering department, focusing on web and "new" media, such as visual radio.
